Boswellia serrata, like turmeric, has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years. Both plants have been used for inflammation, pain and degenerative diseases.[3]

Both, Boswellia serrata and Curcumin shows anti-arthritic, anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and antioxidant properties. Boswellia serrata and Curcumin have been found to be safe and well tolerated. Both ingredients are effective for reducing pain and improving function in peoples with osteoarthritis.[5]

AprèsFlex is a patented, synergistic combination of two proprietary extracts derived from Boswellia serrata gum resin. The oral bioavailability of boswellic acids (AKBA) from AprèsFlex is much higher than that of other commercially available Boswellia extracts. BCM-95® CURCUGREEN® used in our supplement is 100% pure turmeric extract standardized to 95% curcuminoids.[2]

In our supplement, AprèsFlex is used in conjunction with BCM-95® CURCUGREEN®. This combination allows you to enhance the beneficial effects of both synergistically acting ingredients.[1]

Numerous clinical studies have shown that the combination of Boswellia serrata and Turmeric extracts reduced the symptoms of degenerative joint disease, reduced pain caused by this disease and reduced inflammation.[3]

The results of a meta-analysis of data on the use of combined Boswellia serrata and turmeric extracts showed that such a combination of both extracts may be a valuable addition to pharmacological therapy in the case of knee osteoarthritis. The use of combined extracts of Boswellia serrata and turmeric resulted in reduced pain and improved knee joint function without side effects.[12]

Preclinical animal models of osteoarthritis have demonstrated the analgesic effects of curcumin and boswellic acid.[3] Both Boswelia serrata and curcumin may also have a protective effect on cartilage cells in osteoarthritis.[3]

Preclinical studies on rats model with rheumatoid arthritis showed the anti-inflammatory effect of combined extracts of Boswellia serrata and turmeric. This beneficial effect was comparable to the effect of NSAIDs, but without side effects.[3,13]
